SNIS and the BMJ Group recently announced another Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery (JNIS) milestone!
In September, SNIS was notified that JNIS has been accepted for inclusion in Medline, the premier bibliographic database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), making all articles searchable through PubMed. Indexing using the NLM's advanced MeSH terminology will be retroactive from Volume 1, Issue 1 of the journal. Equally as impressive, the three-year-old publication also received its first impact factor for 2010 (1.069) from Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge. Both of these achievements are significant in that they not only reinforce the journal's growing reputation as a trusted scientific resource for the neurointerventional practitioner, but they also serve to exponentially increase the journal's reach and readership among international audiences. As potential authors can be confident that their submissions will be viewed and cited more frequently than ever before, SNIS fully anticipates a pronounced increase in the number of manuscript submissions. In light of these latest accomplishments, as well as the journal's growing popularity, the SNIS editorial committee has chosen to increase publication from four to six issues per year in 2012.
Congratulations to Rob Tarr, JNIS editor-in-chief, and his entire team for their dedication, hard work and persistence in continuing to broaden the impact of the only journal solely dedicated to neurointerventional issues and information. Feel free to check out JNIS by accessing the journal through this website or visiting www.jnis.org.
