Intracranial Stenting Studies

1.  Recanalization and Stenting for Non-acute Intracranial Artery Occlusion

Non-randomized, single cohort study to evaluate whether recanalization and stenting for symptomatic subacute and chronic intracranial artery occlusions (> 24 hours from symptom onset) is technically feasible, can prevent recurrent ischemic events, and promotes functional recovery. Study sponsor is Zhengzhou University. This study is currently recruiting participants.

 2.  China Angioplasty & Stenting for Symptomatic Intracranial Severe Stenosis (CASSISS)

Randomized, controlled trial to evaluate whether intracranial stenting and best medical therapy is superior to best medical therapy alone for preventing stroke during a mean follow-up of 3 years in patients with symptomatic stenosis of a major intracranial artery. Study sponsor is Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing. This study is currently recruiting participants.

3.  An International Registry of the Wingspan™ Stent System for the Treatment of Intracranial Atherosclerotic Stenosis (IRISS)

Prospective observational study to collect clinical and angiographic outcomes data when stenting intracranial atherosclerotic lesions using the Wingspan Stent System with Gateway PTA Balloon Catheter in routine clinical practice. Study sponsor is Stryker International. This study is ongoing, but not recruiting participants.
