Neurointerventional Fellowship Match

In 2020-2021, the SNIS started a task force to work towards a Neurointerventional Fellowship Match. The task force evolved into a multi-society group with representation from the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) and the AANS/CNS Joint Section of Cerebrovascular Surgery. The members of the task force include neurologists, neuroradiologists, and neurosurgeons. The goal of the fellowship match is to promote equitable opportunities for prospective fellows, to increase visibility of all applicants, and to facilitate their contact with fellowship programs, by formalizing the fellowship application and entry process.

To ensure the success of the Neurointerventional Fellowship Match, the task force will continue to work jointly with current fellowship program directors and the Young Professionals Committee. The current projected first fellowship match will take place in early 2023, and will be supported by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The task force and YPC are as eager as the future fellows to confirm the details, but this is a work in progress. More to come… Please check back soon!
